Splendid Seasons recently held its second LED light training program for the children of the Mirigama Sathsewana Rehabilitation School, this time conducted at our own facility. This initiative continues our commitment to supporting children with special needs by equipping them with practical skills that can enhance independence and open new opportunities.
Skill Development Through Hands-On Training
During the session, children were introduced to the complete process of assembling LED lights. Guided by our team, they learned how to handle basic tools, connect components, and test their finished products. The hands-on approach allowed participants to actively engage in the process while developing both technical skills and personal confidence.
For many, the experience of building a working product from start to finish was highly rewarding. It also highlighted the importance of giving children with special needs the opportunity to learn practical skills in a supportive environment.
Support Beyond the Workshop
The program was designed to provide more than just short-term knowledge. Splendid Seasons is also helping to connect the school with reliable suppliers for materials and components needed for LED production. This ensures that the children can continue practicing and even manufacturing LED lights independently after the training sessions.
By providing these resources and connections, our aim is to enable the school to set up a sustainable model where LED production can continue as part of its ongoing activities.
Towards Financial Independence
The project is designed with a clear purpose: to help participants move toward financial independence. By producing and selling LED lights, children at the rehabilitation school can gain a sense of achievement while contributing to the school’s operations and development.
This creates a dual benefit: children develop valuable skills that may support their personal futures, while the school gains additional resources to improve facilities and programs for its students.
Commitment to Inclusive Development
At Splendid Seasons, we strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop practical skills, regardless of ability. This program reflects our commitment to inclusivity by ensuring that children with special needs are not left behind in community development efforts.
The enthusiasm and determination shown by the participants demonstrated their capability to successfully take on new challenges when given proper guidance.
Looking Ahead
The second LED light training program marks another step in our journey of creating meaningful CSR initiatives. Splendid Seasons remains committed to supporting the Mirigama Sathsewana Rehabilitation School and will continue to explore new ways of combining skill-building with sustainable outcomes.
A Note of Appreciation
We extend our sincere thanks to the teachers, staff, and children of the rehabilitation school for their support and active participation. Their cooperation and enthusiasm made this training a success, and we look forward to strengthening this partnership in the years ahead.
