As part of our ongoing CSR efforts, we recently hosted a special group of children with special needs from the ‘Ape Lamai’ institution in Mirigama at our company premises — for a day focused on learning, bonding, and joy.
Learning Life Skills Through Housekeeping
Unlike our LED workshops held for Sathsewana Children’s Home, the visit from Ape Lamai children had a different and equally meaningful focus. During their time with us, the children were introduced to basic housekeeping skills. Our team patiently guided them through simple, practical tasks within our workspace — offering them the opportunity to understand and participate in everyday routines that promote independence.
This experience was designed to help them develop confidence, coordination, and a sense of responsibility. More than just teaching a task, we aimed to give them a sense of involvement and pride in their efforts — and they responded with enthusiasm and joy.
Healing Through Music and Joyful Moments
After the training, the children joined our team for a heartwarming session of singing and musical games. We believe that emotional wellness is just as important as practical skills, and this fun-filled, stress-relieving activity helped the children express themselves freely in a safe, supportive environment.
Their laughter, clapping, and smiling faces created unforgettable memories for everyone involved. These simple yet powerful moments reminded us of the strength found in kindness, inclusion, and shared joy.
